Our team at Ringwood Family Medical Centre believes firmly in the safety and efficacy of Immunisation and the important role it plays in reducing the disease burden of preventable diseases.
Non immunised children can unknowingly act as reservoirs for these preventable diseases, like whooping cough, and pass them on to susceptible people with lowered or altered immune systems, eg. cancer patients or immune system disorders.
However, we also support the theory that some children are more susceptible to adverse effects from these vaccines than others. We offer evidence-based complementary options in supporting such children through the vaccination program to minimise the risks of adverse reactions.
Our team can also provide an appropriate catch-up schedule where the need arises.
